CORPUS DELICTI, a solo exhibition by Jessica Caldas, runs from May 21 to September 18, 2022 in the galleries of Maitland Art Center
Jessica Caldas is a Puerto Rican-American artist and lawyer based in Florida. His artistic practice integrates drawings, collages, sculptures and performances into large multimedia works and immersive installations. In this exhibition, the viewer navigates the physical space of the gallery in an experience that reflects the complexity of the stories and issues explored, stories and issues that focus on the generational experiences of women; their struggles and triumphs, and the complicated spaces, both personal and public, that these women must negotiate. Corpus Delicti, Caldas’ first solo museum exhibition, will present an unprecedented sculptural installation, as well as the realization of a monumental work, The Matriarch’s Timeline.
