Social Media Manager / Copywriter
This role requires the candidate to have a keen interest in masculine subjects such as cars, sports, movies, fitness, food and fashion. In general, there are a lot of cool stuff that men like to watch and read. Plus, you’ll need to be a bit of a social media guru and know how to find content from all over the world.
It’s a great opportunity to combine both long and short writing and creating original content to educate and inform Australian men about what’s happening in the world.
duties and responsibilities
- Help drive the company’s social media strategy
- Research and write a range of stories for use exclusively on Facebook
- Develop your own social media post ideas that will boost engagement and reach
- Write smart, informative captions that follow social media best practices and educate our audience
- Review, schedule and post daily social content to Facebook and Instagram
- Source and edit images and videos to use as social media content
- Use Photoshop to create post templates and video stories
- Drive audience growth and organic traffic across all social media platforms
- Engage and Nurture the DMARGE Community
- Explore emerging social media platforms
Experience / Know-how
- Journalism/Communication/Media Studies graduate (Graduates are welcome to apply)
- 1-2 years of experience as a social media manager for a publisher is a plus – but you can be naturally awesome and can prove it
- You will be prolific on social media and you will keep up to date with what is happening in the world of men, news and especially the latest news
- Knowledge of trends and tips on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
- Experience with community engagement
- Perfect spelling and grammar
- Excellent image editing skills (Photoshop)
- Basic video editing skills will be helpful – this may have been part of your college degree
- Experience in WordPress, Google Apps and all major social media platforms
- Interest in analytics and data – to understand what works and what doesn’t

- Salary according to experience (flat rate up to $70,000)
- Many trainings will be offered to help you grow and learn
- You will be invited to cool events and can try products before everyone else
- Our office is located in a cool warehouse in central Sydney (sorry, only Sydney-based candidates will be considered for this position)
